Prefabrication allows us to incorporate ornamentation into the façade within a limited budget. Manual labour is no longer affordable, even if we could still find craftsmen capable of doing the work. No mason could have crafted the patterns of circles, but we still achieved something visually interesting with the cheapest bricks.
