Marlies Rohmer, Almere NL, experimental housing, slate-clad ‘boiler houses’ the fatasy Almere, aluminium, slates

Aluminium can be used on facades. The aluminium façade of the Waag Pavilion starts as a large roof overhang and, in a single flowing movement, ends on the ground in the shape of a bench. An attractive property of this material, as illustrated by our project in Almere and the Smarties project in Utrecht, is that it strengthens the abstract character of the facade.
